The news about the future of Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has been coming out of nowhere, with his successor seemingly having no choice but to go to Sampdori in the Champions League next season.
But what is he going to do?
The short answer is that there is no way to predict his next move.
He is not going to sign a new contract.
And in the short term, it is not a good idea for Milan to take a gamble on him.
So what will Ancelot do?
Firstly, he will be looking for a new job.
Ancelotti is not known for his long-term thinking, so there is little reason to think that he is interested in a return to Sampdi.
This is partly because the two clubs have no interest in him and because Ancelotto’s contract expires in the summer of 2020.
Secondly, the former Italy internationals’ contract expires at the end of 2019.
He could leave at the start of the season and take his talents to SampDoria, but he would have to wait until the summer.
The club is currently preparing for the upcoming World Cup in Russia and it is thought that they may move Ancelotta to help the squad.
However, Anceloto’s future is not decided yet.
Last year, he was given a five-year contract extension.
After that, it looks like his future will be decided at the club’s board meeting in March 2018.
He will need to make a decision in the next few days or the club will take him on as coach.
